LESSON PLAN - 5th Grade - Science 4 Additional information for lesson: Vocabulary: Trait Heredity Common Misconceptions Students may think that the more common traits are "better", but this is not the case. Graphic organizers can support all subject areas, languages, and levels of learning. Our collections for primary (grades K-2) and intermediate (grades 3-6) are arranged according to the reading strategy, comprehension skill, or learning process they best facilitate. Studying character traits lasted a few days and I met with groups to re-teach, review, and enrich. I used task cards to give groups some quick and easy practice to help with these concepts. The task cards include a short passage that describes a character. Students have to decide which character trait the character is showing in each short passage.Day 4 and 5: Good readers use graphic organizers like webs to help them prepare for their long conversation (or long writing) about a character. They transfer the character traits written on the post-it notes into the boxes on the graphic organizer and then write evidence from the text on the lines below the box.
