Mar 08, 2012 · I've been using a lot of plated bullets lately because frankly, they're cheap. Berry's and Ranier are good but I'm never using X-Treme plated bullets again. The plating is X-tremely soft and I've been stripping a lot of them during bullet seating. I'd say a good 10% have been ruined. I've not had this issue with Berry's or Ranier. Just a heads up.
I had been buying from RMR and bought once from Xtreme because I liked the hollow point plated bullets, but after what they did and how RMR made is easy shipped so freaking fast, I won't likely even consider Xtreme any longer. I don't need the hassleCall project zorgo

Is this true with all plated bullets? I don't know, but I doubt it, or the news would have been all over the web. The only difference i notice between my xtreme plated 115s and my remington 115 gr fmj is how much smoke the tight group made on the back of the jacketed.Don't have much time available for testing and will need to get a solid bench for the Ransom rest before I can begin testing but the X5 is seriously accurate and it prefers 147-gr bullets.
